Daniel Silver is among the 17 artists included in the 13th Edition of Sculpture in the City. The annual sculpture park uses the urban realm as a rotating gallery space.
Silver presents two works from the monumental Rock Formations series, sculptures that are often composed of couplings or collages of stone and bronze, resulting in semi-figurative interpretations of the human form.
One work positions a bronze head directly on a large piece of Michelangelo marble, found by the artist in a stone yard in the Italian town of Pietrasanta, while the other is made simply from two roughly hewn pieces of marble referencing the work of Brâncusi.
